Fellas- here’s a heads up for some Beautiful Christmas gifts for the lovely ladies in your life! Girlfriends, Mum’s, Sisters and Best Friends will thank you for their BEST present this Christmas if you shop with us at Bunkers Hill on Saturday 17th December to find unique jewellery, handmade accessories and one-of-a-kind homewears. Here’s just a few recommendations to help you on the day…
Zalisander is a Nottingham based jewellery company recently established by Lex with help from the Princes Trust. Each piece of jewellery is made with love, bringing you handcrafted quality and uniqueness. Zalisander Contemporary Jewellery will be showcasing items from her ‘Pearlvine’ collection. These beautiful pieces are botanically inspired, incorporating silver with multi hued freshwater pearls.
THE COLLAR WORKER
The collar worker is an ethical fashion collaboration between Harriet Haines-Young and Abigail Waistie. They create innovative sustainable designs using only certified organic fair trade cotton, bamboo and silk hand-dyed and silk screen print using only non toxic inks. Their work was inspired by a reversal of gender stereotypes and class relations, and how this relates to what we wear.
“We are influenced by Traditional textile construction, what goes on behind the ‘seams’ of our clothes…so watch out for the decorative domestic symbols in our work, such as sneaky scissors! We don’t like running into friends who are wearing something we have just bought which happens often with high street fashion. This is why we only make limited runs of each design, to keep a unique and personal feel to the products you own, and it means you can accessorise your wardrobe with items you won’t see on the high street!”
On Saturday 17th at Bunkers Hill, they will be selling a range of fine quality accessories, screen printed scarves, dresses and a selection of other items such as knitted accessories (gloves and wraps) Tote bags, cards, badges and buttons!
Michelle is your one stop shop for beautifully presented vintage and vintage inspired jewellery featuring charm bracelets, rings, brooches and necklaces.
She describes her work as ‘Feminine, cute and quirky – a truly delightful gift.’ I think you will agree. Indulge a girly side and treat someone (or even yourself) to a piece of quirky jewellery this season.
Carly makes hand crafted jewellery, tea light holders and small vessels out of translucent porcelain. She will also have some lovely porcelain christmas decorations especially for the festive season with her at our market.
“I find the qualities of porcelain exciting, how it takes on colour and glaze, how it can be manipulated to give beautiful results. I experiment with these qualities to try and produce lovely wares that are friendly, tactile but most importantly usable.”
I am delighted that Carly has launched her new range just in time for Christmas to share with you at our Christmas Fair.
